Community Service Ministry

Blessing Box

Our Blessing Box supports low income families in Lewisville as well as across Forsyth County. Some of them even cross over town and county lines and cover other regions. In any case, a food bank can help a struggling family in an emergency by offering everything from groceries to referrals and information on public aid such as food stamps.

Our church provides the blessing box, located outside the Family Life Center, and is open 24/7.

Grace-filled Resilience (GFR)

Grace-filled Resilience is a time for Christian fellowship, devotion, prayer, music and we have a simple meal or snack together. We focus on God‘s goodness and His grace and presence even during difficult times.

This mental health ministry is for families, caregivers or individuals persevering with mental health challenges or struggles within their families. We meet monthly, usually on Sunday afternoon. Please contact Matt or Teresa Reece with any questions or inquiry.

Philippians 4:6-7 - 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

GRACE-FILLED RESILIENCE THEME SONG

The story behind our Grace-Filled Resilience Theme Song illustrates the heart of what this ministry is all about. One of our member’s grandfather, like all of us, experienced brokenness. This brokenness manifested in his life as alcoholism. Sadly, the church he was attending asked him to leave because of his alcoholism. While that church might have given up on him, our God did not! The Holy Spirit drew him to another church, where he began to grow in Christ and experience God’s full grace and forgiveness. At that church, he learned this song:

GOD IS MY FATHER
EVERYONE IS MY BROTHER
AND JESUS IS SAVIOR OF ALL
HE TAUGHT US TO LOVE
AND FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER
AND LIFT UP THOSE WHO FALL

The story of grace and forgiveness that God created within the life of this dear Saint became a family legacy. For this man began to teach this song to his children and grandchildren. They taught the song to their children, and so on. Today, long after he is in heaven with Christ, the many relatives of this man sing this song at every family reunion. Truly God can create holy beauty from the ashes of our brokenness. If you are seeking a place to find a fresh start, a shelter from the storms of life, and some grace filled encouragement, we would invite you to join us at our GRACE FILLED RESILIENCE events! ALL are welcome!

Autism Social Group

The Autism social group is a fellowship time for teenagers and young adults to socialize, make friends and have fun in a Christian setting. We play games, make crafts, have a simple meal, and enjoy conversation and time together.

Individuals with special needs along with their families are welcome to attend. We meet quarterly, usually outside at the picnic shelter at Concord Methodist Church. Please email Matt or Teresa Reece.

Matthew 25:40 - Whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me.

Methodist Women

The Methodist Women is a group of ladies that love the Lord. We study the Bible, have devotion and serve our community. Any lady is welcome to attend our group. We meet monthly, the first Monday of each month at 10 am in the Family Life Center. Please email Teresa Reece.

Proverbs 1:30 - Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Friday evening Bible Study

Friday evening Bible Study meets at 7:00 pm in the Family Life Center. This is a wonderful time to fellowship with other Christian people, and to engage in Godly discussion.
